Deutsche Bank ups China 2018 GDP forecast to 6.6% from 6.3%

In its latest client note, Deutsche Bank economists Zhiwei Zhang and Yi Xiong made upward revisions to China’s 2018 GDP forecasts.

Key Highlights:

China 2018 GDP forecast raised to 6.6% from 6.3%.

The main reason for the change is a surprising rebound in property and land markets.

This will support government spending and property investment.

2019 and 2020 forecasts remain unchanged at 6.3%

Xi's speech earlier "emphasized the reform to further open the economy to foreign investment, which is also positive for growth".
