Putin's speech in parliament: Crimea's decision similar to Ukraine's secession from USSR
FXStreet (Łódź) - Russian President Vladimir Putin suggests that what happened in Ukraine was a coup conducted by nationalists, anti-semites, russophobes and terrorists.
• Russia stepped in to protect the rights of Russians living in Ukraine.
• “Crimeans used Kosovo as precedent” which was established by the West.
• International law doesn't ban the recognition of independence.
• Crimea is entitled to self-determination, the same way Ukraine was when it seceded from the USSR.
• Putin also thanks Ukrainian soldiers for now attacking Russian troops.
