USD/CAD drops further near 1.3060
FXStreet (Edinburgh) - The greenback continues to depreciate vs. its Canadian peer on Friday, now dragging USD/CAD to session lows in the 1.3065/60 band.
USD/CAD breaches 1.3100
The pair has left behind the critical support at 1.3100 today as the greenback is losing ground across the board, while market participants continue to unwind USD-long positions.
Ahead in the session, key inflation figures and retail sales data will steal the show in the Canadian docket, while Markit will release its flash manufacturing PMI in the US economy.
USD/CAD levels to consider
At the moment the pair is retreating 0.10% at 1.3075 with the next support at 1.3022 (low Aug.19) ahead of 1.2998 (low Aug.11) and finally 1.2957 (low Aug.13). On the other hand, a surpass of 1.3178 (high Aug.20) would aim for 1.3183 (high Aug.10) and then 1.3197 (high Aug.6).
