Greek lawmakers set to vote on new controversial austerity measures
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The Greek parliament is due to hold a key vote on the new package of reforms late on Wednesday. The measures, required by the country's international lenders in exchange for the fresh bailout payment of 6.8 billion euros, include mass layoffs in the public sector and have sparked widespread protests which culminated in a general strike yesterday.
The vote will be a test of support for PM Antonis Samaras's recently reshuffled government. It is expected that the bill will be narrowly approved.
